In June 2013, I was invited as a guest speaker to present the clinical outcomes from the medical research I conducted in hopes of helping to understand why my Mom was losing her ability to do anything. Severe muscle weakness led to a serious decline in her health.

One of the most encouraging people our lives during that time and since has been Dr. Vera, Stejskal. Since 2009, we have been corresponding. M.E.L.I.S.A. was the metal allergy test we were refer to use by a highly reputable dermatologist in Atlanta, GA. When I reached out to thank the inventor early on, I had no idea we would become friends and supporters of one another’s mission which an increasing public awareness of the types of metals placed in the human body.

Trish, Vera and Chris June 2013The M.E.L.I.S.A. metal allergy test proved my theory to be correct, but that was confirmed after Dr. Ken Sands, the orthopaedic surgeon that already performed my Mom’s knee revision. It was a failed prosthesis!

We finally met at the Dallas Conference in June, and it was a long awaited wonderful greeting! We will forever be grateful to Vera for her passion, integrity and driving force to expose metal allergies that can be hazardous to anyone’s health.
